Shirley Mae Neu's ”Neu Expression” art has been a passion since early childhood; a place to creatively escape. Her spontaneous endeavors have given birth to contemporary canvases filled with color, movement, and mystery with a unique flair. Risk-taking and experimentation with a variety of mediums and techniques continues to lead her down new paths. Shirley's work has been shown in solo, group and juried exhibitions in numerous Connecticut libraries. She has also shown at several institutions including the Mark Twain, Slater and New Britain American Art Museum. She has held Art Educator positions within the West Hartford Public School system and at the Renbrook School Summer Adventure Camp. During the past 17 years, Shirley has been very involved as a Canton Artists’ Guild Board Member. The exhibition opportunities at the Guild as well as other art venues have been a frequent source of inspiration and exploration.
